I am sad to announce that our Social Worker, Kristin Moses, has been transferred from Roberts to Frazer. Mrs. Moses has been at Roberts for 17 years. This is not a transfer that she requested and our new principal, Ms. Sherwood has fought unsuccessfully to keep her here. Below is a copy of an email I sent this morning to the Superintendent expressing my concerns about a district decision bening made without thought to how it will affect the children at Roberts. I urge anyone who shares the same concerns to email the Super. I think it is very important that she hear from as many Roberts families as possible. The Super's email is: [email protected]
Good Morning Superintendent Contreras,
I am writing to express my concerns over the transfer of our current Social Worker, Kristin Moses, from Roberts to Frazer.
Mrs. Moses has spent the past 17 years at Roberts working tirelessly with students and families. She has cultivated relationships that should be maintained. Mrs. Moses truly works everyday for the best interests of all the children at Roberts.Mrs. Moses is an integral part of the Roberts community and I think she should remain at Roberts.
I am especially concerned that Mrs. Moses will not be available this year for our children at Roberts. This particular year will be a huge transition year due to a new administrative team. I believe that all efforts should be made to provide support and continuity for our children, not more change. In addition, transferring Mrs. Moses in the middle of the summer denies the children and families at Roberts an opportunity to say goodbye and to properly prepare for this upheaval.
On behalf of the parent community, a group of parents and I respectfully request an opportunity to sit down and meet with you to further discuss our concerns about how these district level decisions are affecting Roberts.
Please let me know when you are available to meet. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Respectfully,
Katie Sojewicz
