The Parent University Fall Conference is quickly approaching. This year the conference is being held at the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central (258 E. Adams St.) on Saturday, November 16th from 9:00 AM- 3:30 PM.
There will be three sessions of workshops this year including classes on: How to Help Your Child Meet School Behavior Expectations, Stop Living Paycheck to Paycheck, Your Rights at Work, Building Family Communication with Science Projects, Healthy Relationships: A Building Block for Success in School, Math Counts and many more.
This year there is also a special one-day workshop for students in grades 6-9. The workshop is titled “Unblurred Lines: Getting Clear About Relationships and is sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta and 100 Black Men of Syracuse.
Child care, transportation and lunch are all provided. You must register your child(ren) in advance to take advantage of the child care. The day begins with registration from 9:00-10:00 AM followed by a welcome from Superintendent Contreras and greetings from our friends at Vera House.
